Samuel Jay Keyser
is Professor of Linguistics, Emeritus, at MIT. His reserach interests range from Phonology to Metrics to the Cognitive Science of Art. He is the author of dozens of significant books and articles in Linguistics and beyond, indcluding
Prolegomenon to a Theory of Argument Structure, with Kenneth Hale, published in 2002., as well as works of fiction, cognitive sceince and a history of MIT. He is also an accomplished musician. His most recent book,
The Mental Life of Modernism, came out in 2020. He holds a PhD in Linguistics from Yale.
