Leah Lowe Vanderbilt University

Leah Lowe is Associate Professor of Theatre, Drama and Dramturgy, and Department Chair at Vanderbilt University where she teaches classes in directing and in creating original performance work. She directs plays professionally in Nashville and beyond. She particularly enjoys collaborating with playwrights and actors on the development of new texts. Her scholarly research interests include contemporary American drama, nineteenth century American audience cultures, and performance art. She holds an MFA in Directing from the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. in dramaturgy from The Florida State University School of Theater.
