Sung Un Gang is a postdoctoral researcher at Collaborative RC 1265 “Re-Figuration of Spaces” at Technische Universität Berlin, where he is currently engaging in fieldwork in Seoul for his project "Smart People: Queer Everyday Life in Digitalized Spaces." He obtained his doctoral degree in Theater- and Media Studies from the University of Cologne for his thesis The Making of Modern Subjects: Public Discourses about Korean Female Spectators in the Early Twentieth Century (2024; forthcoming). Since 2020, he has been producing the queer Asian interview podcast “Bin ich süßsauer (Am I Sweet Sour?)” for German-speaking audiences.
