Sargylana Kondakova Free Yakutia Foundation

Sargylana is 46 year-old indigenous woman from the Republic Sakha (Yakutia) in Siberia (Russia) where she grew and lived most of her life. She is a representative of ethnic minorities people of Yukhagirs whose population at the moment is just 1500 people. Sargylana’S grandparents lost their language and culture. Sargylana lives in Australia now. She finds a lot of similarities with the tragedy of Aboriginal peoples of Australia and her own peoples in Arctic, as both cultures were colonised by the emperors and can be described as “lost generations”.
