
Pavel Iosad
Pavel Iosad is Professor of Synchronic and Diachronic Phonology at the University of Edinburgh, where he has worked since 2013. He holds a Specialist degree from Moscow State University and a PhD from the University of Tromsø — The Arctic University of Norway. His primary interests are in theoretical phonology (particularly theories of phonological representations), historical phonology, and (increasingly) phonological typology, as well as the scholarship of teaching and learning in linguistics. Much of his work concerns Celtic, Germanic, Slavic, and Romance languages.
