Alessia Giordano

Alessia Giordano is a PhD student at the University for Foreigners of Siena, where she is working on a project that examines the presence, phonological structure and aesthetic perception of ternary metrical feet in Italian poetry. She obtained her Master’s degree in Italian Studies from the University of Bologna with a thesis on contemporary poetry and generative metrics. Her research interests focus on the relationship between metrical and linguistic form, with particular attention to empirical aesthetics, phonology and recent theories of meter.
