Tulika Chandra is a Professor and former Dean of Students at Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Delhi-NCR. Drawing from her training in Linguistics (MA, MPhil, and PhD from JNU), she creates and implements courses and programs for second-language learners. Her publications include books, book chapters, and articles published in journals; she has translated and edited folktales from Braj language & Hindi into English. Prof Chandra is a US International Exchange Alumni. She is a folklore collector, currently working on two active Folklore projects: (a) ‘Digitization of Folktales Through Digitization’, a narratological research project work on narratives of regional Indian native folkloristic tradition. And (b) ‘Folk Genre of Rural Community Women: Patrons in Preservation of Folklore’, this is empirical research that employs oral folk expressions carried on for many generations by the women. Apart from folklore, she is working on the notion of learner-centred instruction and the role of instructors in classroom.
