Jaklin Kornfilt
Jaklin Kornfilt received her PhD in Linguistics from Harvard University. She teaches courses in general linguistics, historical linguistics, syntax, and morphology at Syracuse University, where she is a Professor of Linguistics. Her main research interest is Turkish and Turkic syntax and morphology, with a secondary interest in German syntax. Her book on Turkish grammar (1997) was published by Routledge. She has also edited and co-edited books and special journal issues, and her papers have appeared in numerous venues. She has taught at summer schools such as CreteLing and the LSA Summer School, and she has served as a Visiting Professor, e.g. at Harvard University, the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, the University of Leipzig, and the University of Stuttgart. She has been awarded prestigious fellowships and prizes, such as the Humboldt Prize for lifelong achievements, Fulbright and Humboldt Fellowships, and Visiting Scientist fellowships by the Max Planck Institute.
