Iva Kovač
Iva Kovač is a PhD candidate and a university assistant at the University of Vienna. Her main interest lies in syntax and its interface with semantics; the linguistic areas that intrigue her most (at least at the moment) are polarity-sensitive items and complement clauses (especially dependencies that reach into or out of them). Topics she has worked on include restructuring, implicit control, habituality, long-distance A-dependencies, and finiteness, investigated through the lenses of Basque, Croatian, Dutch, but also from a typologically more diverse perspective. Apart from being a linguist, Iva is also a freelance flutist, specialising in contemporary classical music.
