Vincent Czarnecki
Vincent Czarnecki is a 2nd year PhD student at Rutgers University working with Adam Jardine. He received a BA in Pure Mathematics and an MA in Computational Linguistics from Stony Brook University, as well as an advanced graduate certificate in Data and Computational Science from the Institute for Advanced Computational Science (IACS). His main interests lie at the intersection of linguistics, mathematics, theoretical computer science, and philosophy. Overall, his research aims to utilize tools such as formal language theory, mathematical logic, and abstract algebra to understand the nature of human language and its complexity. Currently, he is using methods from finite model theory to investigate the interaction of syntax and tone spreading patterns at the syntax-phonology interface.
