Basil Ovu is a PhD student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria, where he also earned his Master's degree in Language Studies. He holds a law degree from Imo State University, Owerri, Nigeria, and a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria. His research focuses on theoretical and experimental syntax, language acquisition, and contact linguistics. Currently, he teaches English syntax, comparative grammar of English and Igbo, basic and intermediate grammar, and composition at the Department of English Language and Literature, Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria.
