ELTE & Hungarian Research Centre for Linguistics
Irina Burukina is an assistant professor of Linguistics at Eötvös Loránd University and a researcher at the HUN-REN Research Centre for Linguistics in Budapest. She works primarily on (morpho)syntax, focusing on the question of how syntax puts together predicates and arguments and what it means for the clausal domain to be deficient in terms of argument licensing. She has been working on non-finite subordination, deverbal nominalization, predication, and nominal licensing, examining primary data from Uralic, Mayan, and Slavic languages.
