Cult D: “There is no blood in our flag"

As artists working across performance, photography, and media, Hanae Utamura and Yola Monakhov Stockton will co-teach a student-led class where we will analyze representational regimes, whether based in language, image, or media platform in the informational space of the war in Ukraine. The goal is for us to gather as a trans-national community to wrestle with the current rhetorical context of warfare, violence, and power. We envision such gathering and analysis as forms of resistance, alternative community, and mutual care.
