Ling F: The CP domain: semantic and cartographic approaches (advanced!)

The course investigates the structure and composition of the highest clausal domain—the CP. We will look at cartographic and semantic approaches, and show that a combination thereof is needed to fully understand the distribution of phenomena such as ECM, embedded root clauses, restructuring, and finiteness.
Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of generative syntax (clause structure, ECM, raising, control, Case, movement)
