Seminar: Ling B: Introduction to Formal Semantics

This course is an introduction to the study of meaning in natural language. How can one represent the meaning of words, like 'sky', 'run', 'all', 'not'? How can one build meanings of larger phrases and sentences from the meaning of those words? How does context influence the meaning of a sentence? We will approach these questions by getting familiar with formal tools for semantic theory.
