In this class, we will be discussing first and second language acquisition, the universal patterns and language- or modality-specific phenomena, sociolinguistic factors influencing language acquisition, and difficulties we encounter when acquiring our first or second language. Come for the cute viral videos about babies, and stay for the exciting phenomena that they actually illustrate!
