Cult D: Bypassing Petunia Pig: slangs in the era of digital $urveill4nce

During this course, participants will get an overview of slangs (sociolects for individuals to communicate more safely amongst their communities) and their role in community-forming and affirmation. With audiovisual examples from several slangs we will examine how the tools used can be applied in today’s ecosystem of off- and online communications. We will then focus on crafting words ourselves. Which subjectivities remain unarticulated? How can we use linguistic tools to freely express ourselves and connect with others?
