Ling D: Universals in Phonology

This course introduces students to phonology by asking what its universal components are, its proposed representations, computations, and the nature of the mapping to and from other components. Students will be presented with the very divergent opinions that currently exist in the literature and the nature of the argumentation and evidence (or lack of) that underlies them.
