Last year when the Supreme Court of India started hearings on Marriage Equality, it was observed that almost all the petitions spoke about coupledom and the right to marry. These petitions also came from a certain privileged class persons. While this was happening The National Network of Lesbian, Bisexual, Queer, Intersex women and Trans persons had a few consultations because these petitions did not bring forth our realities. That made us file a petition Rituparna Borah and ors vs Union of India.
